M&S has today unveiled more details on what customers can expect to see when its brand new foodhall at Ladymead Retail Park opens in a few weeks on the 12th June.

The foodhall is one of nine new M&S Foodhalls set to open across the UK this financial year, as set out in the retailer’s full-year results today.

The show-stopping 15,000 sq ft store will offer local shoppers a fresh market-style Foodhall, complete with in-store bakery for freshly baked breads and pastries – including the retailer’s signature Collection Sourdough – made through an authentic 30-hour process.

And with new lower prices on its Remarksable ranges – including Super Soft sliced bread fortified with Vitamin D, RSPCA Assured fresh milk, and DNA traceable beef mince sourced from trusted M&S Select Farmers – the new Foodhall will deliver trusted value for local customers.

There is something for everyone, with interactive features throughout the store, including a Pick your own eggs section.

Other features include a dedicated Flower Shop, Wine Shop and Card & Wrap shop to offer the best possible shopping experience for shoppers.

The store will also have M&S’ signature cheese barge, featuring a selection of cheeses, and Click & Collect facilities.

Sparks customers will also be able to use Scan and Shop scanners, where Sparks customers can use handheld devices to scan and bag items as they go. Customers can sign up to Sparks via the M&S app of via the M&S website.

Percy Pig will be on hand on opening day to welcome customers through the doors, along with local sax player, Nick Pike.

Launching in time for Summer, the new store will also have an amazing range of seasonal treats – including 250 new products M&S has launched for this Summer, including fully loaded ice cream tubs, New York-inspired dips, restaurant-quality tapas, British King strawberries, top-of-the-range Collection pizzas and more.

The store officially opens at 9am on Wednesday 12th June and the store’s team of 88 colleagues will be on hand to help.

The Guildford Ladymead store will be led by Amelia Holwill, who has worked for M&S for 19 years and started as a customer assistant.

Store Manager, Amelia Holwill, who has worked at M&S for 19 years, said: “It’s exciting to share more details of our brand new Foodhall as we look forward to welcoming the community to our new Guildford Ladymead store when we open next month! I’ve worked at the current Guildford store and it is such an honour to be leading the team as we finalise the Ladymead store. The new Foodhall is packed with so many exciting features which we can’t wait to reveal, so we’re counting down the days to finally open the doors so local customers can see it for themselves!”
