During Children’s Mental Health Week 2026 (9–13 February), Delancey Real Estate is funding a mobile wellbeing initiative that will bring free mental health support directly into London schools. Delivered in partnership with The Zen Project, the Zen Bus is a converted American school bus providing a calm, supportive environment for children and teachers.

During each visit, pupils and staff will take part in guided sessions in mindfulness, breathing, and emotional regulation; techniques designed to be applied beyond the bus itself and into everyday school life. On 9–10 February, the bus will visit schools in communities where Delancey is actively investing, including Earl’s Court and Stratford.

The need for early intervention in children’s mental health is growing. According to Place2Be, 95% of UK school staff report rising pupil anxiety, while NHS England data shows one in five children had a probable mental disorder in 2023.* Teachers are also under pressure, with many experiencing burnout and limited access to support.

“The Zen Bus provides practical tools that children and teachers can use anywhere — classroom, playground, or home,” said Corinne Gardner, Founder of The Zen Project.

Jamie Ritblat, Founder and Executive Chairman of Delancey, added: “This initiative complements a suite of Delancey’s ongoing programmes — from education and heritage partnerships to mental health support — reflecting our philosophy that real estate investment and placemaking should deliver value for communities as well as investors. Supporting children’s mental health is critical to resilient, thriving neighbourhoods, and the Zen Bus helps bring structured wellbeing support directly into schools where we are invested for the long term.”

The Zen Bus programme builds on Delancey’s longstanding commitment to community engagement and social value. Since 2007, Delancey has contributed around £4.5 million to initiatives spanning education, arts, mental health and youth development, underpinned by a responsible investment strategy that integrates environmental, social and governance outcomes into its business activity.
